Fashion Show Aims To Raise Money For America’s VetDogs – Patchogue, NY

What’s a hair fashion show? Fashion designers are often touted for the hair and makeup on their models as much as the clothes draped on their backs.  This Sunday evening, Long Islanders will have the opportunity to feast their eyes on hair creations by The Capozzi Salon at The Emporium in Patchogue.
Capozzi Salon Owner R. Anthony Capozzi established this event in 2008 to take his staff “away from what we do in the everyday” and challenge them to expand & unleash their inner artists. Each year’s event has played host to a specific charity including Susan B.Komen For The Cure (http://www.s.komen.org/) and for the last three years America’s VetDogs bringing  fundraising totals in the thousands of dollars.
America’s VetDogs® – The Veteran’s K-9 Corps® is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded by the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and serves the needs of disabled veterans and active duty personnel. Since 1946, the Guide Dog Foundation has provided guide dogs and training at no cost to people who are blind or visually impaired, including veterans.
In 2003, the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind recognized the need for an overall assistance dog program for veterans that would incorporate guide dogs, service dogs, and state-of-the-art mobility devices – especially as our nation’s veterans age and as our country’s wounded warriors return home from active conflicts aboard.
America’s VetDogs was created and incorporated to give veterans easy access to the best services possible to improve their lives.
With the sale of raffles for donated gift baskets along with cash donations, The Capozzi Salon raises funds for this very worthy cause. Doors will open at 6:00pm. Showtime is 6:30pm.  A quick self-disclosure here, my physique model son will be dancing in the show.  Cocktail Hour is from 6:30-7:30pm Open bar (First & Last Hour, beer & Wine Only) Tickets are $50.
