World Peace In Florida

I saw the Dalai Lama speak once, when asked how we could achieve world peace, he said we all must achieve peace with ourselves first. That made a ton of sense to me, and apparently I am not the only one. Paula Winker , of Boca Raton Florida, decided to open her doors to the public with the intention of creating Interfaith meeting hall. She did so with Jane Faysash, also of Boca Raton, in order to create a place of dialogue, skill building, and understanding between faiths.

The Hearth is Winker’s home, which has lots of room for group meetings, but is also the home base for several peace-themed outreach programs, including an Interfaith Conversation group; Mindfulness Meditation groups; a Just Peace, or Catholic social justice, series; meetings of a regional Interfaith Coalition; and an Interfaith Café that will begin in February.

It is particularly important during chaotic times to remind ourselves that there are plenty of folks doing good in this world; we must make an effort to highlight them! For those who say one person cannot make a difference, perhaps you are right, but clearly two can. I imagine this is just the sort of thing the Dalai Lama had in mind, he often speaks of interfaith dialogue as the key world peace.
