On Wednesday, former FBI Director James Comey was named Howard University’s King Endowed Chair in Public Policy.

In this new role, Comey will be delivering the Opening Convocation Keynote address as well as leading a series of five lectures at the Washington, D.C.-based university.

Comey will receive $100,000 from the university. He has agreed to donate it all to a scholarship fund at the school for students involved in the foster care system.

Comey is a longtime supporter of foster children and has experience being a foster parent, according to NPR. In a 2014 interview with the outlet, he reflected on his experience as an emergency foster parent and staunch supporter of foster youth.

After fostering a baby boy who was born prematurely to a mother suffering from drug addiction, Comey and his wife, Patrice, have been instrumental in helping the child’s development. Though the child is now living with an adoptive mother, the couple continues to visit and look after him.

“It is absolutely true that as a foster parent that you in a lot of ways get more out of it than you put into it,” Comey said in the interview.

Comey was fired by President Donald Trump in May and later testified about his investigation into alleged Russian interference in last year’s presidential election.
