Tis the Season to be Giving Fa la la la la, la la la la!

Each year around the holiday time since I was younger, my family has the tradition to organize and collect donations for different charities. I am hoping to expand this beyond family and close friends this year. I am collecting donations for Long Island Cares (http://www.licares.org/), Big Brothers Big Sisters (http://www.bbbsli.org/), and Toys for Tots (http://amityville-ny.toysfortots.org/local-coordinator-sites/lco-sites/default.aspx).

For Long Island Cares, I am looking to collect non-perishable food items such as canned food, cereal, and pasta. Here is a link from Long Island Cares listing items that most Long Island families are seeking: http://www.licares.org/Food_Bank/Food_Drives/permaflyers/Food_Drive_Most_Needed_Items.pdf.

For Big Brothers Big Sisters, I am looking to collect clothing items that are new or gently used such as coats, pants, shirts, and sweaters.

For Toys for Tots, I am looking to collect new unwrapped toys up until December 19, 2012 in order to get them to the organization on time for the holidays. Toys for Tots is also supporting a clothing drive for families affected by Hurricane Sandy. If you are interested in participating in the relief for Hurricane Sandy, I am looking to collect clothing that is new or gently used such as coats, pants, shoes, and shirts.

If you prefer to donate directly to the organizations, use the links above. If you have any questions, or would like to donate, please contact me at audreyhaven@live.com or leave a comment on this page. Let’s work together!!!

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!
